However, if you have performed an installation in an institute or nail salon, it is possible that your nail technician will also take leave and may not be able to perform a removal when you wish. If your nail art is starting to run or just getting tired, there are ways to remove it without going to your favorite nail bar. For many people, keeping them on for long periods of time is not exactly pleasant. So, how to remove your own semi-permanent nail polish and go back to natural nails? All our advice in this article.
Before explaining how to remove it, it is necessary to find out what semi-permanent nail polish is. This is a process that allows you to fix your nail polish to increase its lifespan. The permanent varnish can be applied on the nails of the hands as well as the feet. This type of artificial nail stays in place for a long time (about 2 to 3 weeks), and requires a UV lamp curing process like UV gel nails. You can go to an institute to have semi-permanent varnish applied or buy a ready-made kit on the market. Some brands also offer a semi-permanent nail polish removal kit, but it's quite difficult to do it yourself. In addition, many women are afraid of damaging their nails by doing it themselves without a tested and approved technique.
The main reason why semi-permanent nail polish is so difficult to remove is its composition in acrylic gel, which gives it its increased resistance. The semi-permanent varnish is applied in two layers: the first allows the second to take off like a sticker. However, it often happens that the first layer remains on the natural nails. Additionally, many people also apply a top coat over semi-permanent nail polish. This top coat is designed to seal artificial nails and prevent them from chipping. Therefore, the first coat and the second coat are both stuck on your nails well. All of these actions combined make it quite difficult to remove your semi-permanent manicure.
It may -be the easiest way to remove your semi-permanent nail polish if it's starting to chip or you want to change color. However, the first layer must already be peeled off for this technique to work. Fill a bowl with warm water mixed with a small amount of acetone. Gently push back your cuticles, then dip your nails into the mixture.
After a while, the artificial nails will start to soften and will be easier to remove. Be careful not to leave your nails in the solution for too long or they can become brittle. Gently remove the artificial nails, then wash your hands with mild soap, insisting on the nails. If a little semi-permanent nail polish remains stuck to your natural nails, use a wooden nail brush to remove them. You can also try filing them if the remains are not near your cuticles.
If the previous method is unsuccessful, you will need to use pure acetone (dissolvent) to remove your false nails. Pour a generous amount of acetone into a bowl. Gently push back your cuticles. Soak your nails in acetone for about 10-15 minutes. The varnished nails will then become more flexible and therefore easier to remove. Gently remove the semi-permanent varnish with a cotton ball, then wash your hands. Then use a nail file to finish cleaning the area.
If you still can't remove your semi-permanent nail polish after testing these two methods, it's time to move up a gear: foil wrappers. This is particularly valid for those who wish to get rid of their varnish after 3 weeks, when the nails have grown back and the demarcation is visible. For this, take 10 cotton pads that you soak in acetone-based solvent, then place them on each of your nails. Wrap the whole thing in aluminum foil so that the cotton pads do not spin and wait about a quarter of an hour, the time for the product to act on your painted nails. Check if the varnish is gone, if not, extend the exposure time by 10 minutes. All you have to do is clean each nail with a clean cotton ball to get rid of the remains of varnish.
You don't have any product on hand and still want to get rid of your semi-permanent nail polish? You have certainly thought of doing this using a nail file. However, care must be taken with the filing not to touch the natural nail. To do this, you have to proceed carefully and progress step by step. File little by little and stop when you see your natural nail appear under the varnish.
Now that you know how to remove your semi-permanent varnish yourself, all you have to do is only to test our different methods.
